Creative Process and Ideation
This project brief provided a few constraints, one being the tagline, "Frame Your World." I started to explore the meaning of this phrase, as it felt deeper than a clever pun to sell designer eyewear. Creating a photo moodboard inspired the idea of framing your world in both inside and outside environments, which naturally fit a product line of glasses and sunglasses.
A deeper story started to form as I sketched a rough outline of the catalog, portraying the models moving out of isolation into community. An indoor studio shoot transitions from one to two people, and their world is slowly reframed. Shifting from a lifestyle in isolation and independence, an outdoor shoot of 5 friends depicts individuals framing their world outside of themselves, in community. Naturally an invitation is given at the end for readers to participate in Warby's "Buy a Pair, Give a Pair" program, and frame their world around others by giving new vision to those in need.
